Bidding
You must register and receive a buyer number before you can bid. To do this, click the "REGISTER" tab at the top of this page or the auction listing page. Complete the form and click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page. If you have purchased Brafords from us in the past, you do not need to provide the banking information. You will receive an email with your buyer number indicating that you have been approved as a bidder. By registering to bid, you are agreeing to abide by the terms and conditions stated here by Thunderstorm R Cattle Co. and by EDJEAuctions.com. By placing a successful bid, you are entering into a binding agreement between yourself and the seller. Once accepted, bids may not be retracted or cancelled and, upon acceptance by the seller, constitute a binding agreement between the buyer and seller. Ater the March 13 bid opening, you may place individual bids that are $100 higher than the previous bid as indicated by the auction system. Alternatively, you may place confidential maximum (proxy) bids where you declare the maximum dollar amount you want to bid and the computer will bid on your behalf until you have successfully purchased the lot or the asking price exceeds your maximum bid amount. Maximum bids are strictly confidential and are not known by other buyers or the sellers. Lots will begin closing out at at 4 PM CDT on March 21. In lot order, bidding on lots will close out every three minutes. If late bids (last two minutes) are received on a lot, an additional two minutes will be added to the countdown timer on that lot only. A lot will be considered sold only after a two minute period passes without any additional bidding. Regardless of added time on previous lots, later lots will close out on time unless they too have time added due to late bidding. Maximum (proxy) bidding is highly encouraged as several bulls could possibly be on the countdown clock simultaneously. You definitely need to consider maximum bidding if you will not have computer access at close-out time on Sunday, March 21. If you will not be around a computer at closeout time or would just rather call in your bids, please call 936.569.4872 or 936.560.3483 or 936.552.1467 and someone will bid for you. Also use these numbers if you have any questions about the bulls or the sale procedure. Health
All bulls were semen tested on March 12 and all passed as satisfactory potential breeders by Dr. Jake David. Results and scrotal circumference recorded and available on the Thunderstorm R website. These bulls are semen tested quite young (average age will be a little more than 13 months) for Brahman-influenced cattle. Any bull selling that has not satisfactorily passed a semen test will sell with the guarantee that he will fully pass a breeding soundness exam by his second birthday.
All lots are virgin bulls. If you plan to buy from outside Texas, please let us know ahead of time so we can have our veterinarian check your state's health requirements for entry of young virgn bulls.
Texas is officially classified as free of brucellosis and TB.
Registration All cattle in the sale are Brafords registered by United Braford Breeders. The sellers will transfer all registration certificates to the buyers as soon as the bulls are paid for in full. The Bulls
Other than those culled and sold at the sale barn and one bull sold in the UBB's association sale in Houston, we offer all bulls out of the 2009 calf crop. None were sold or held back. Bulls not sold in the sale will be offered by private treaty. If you need bulls after our sale, give us a call to see what we still have. Bulls sold after the sale will be priced at or above the listed starting price.
